About the Role


This newly created role is essential in establishing long-term, trusting relationships with our customers and driving business growth for the company. The Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing customers and actively seek new business opportunities for Cann’s medicinal cannabis products and services. Central to the role is the development of long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers/clients and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. The Account Manager will liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams at Cann to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products and services tailored to meet customer needs. A high degree of creativity and latitude is expected to be successful in this role.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy, and working remotely this role can be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane, focusing on the Southern Queensland region. 

 

As an Account Manager, you will


  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customer's position in the market.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the customer, including current and potential medicinal cannabis prescribers, pharmacists, cannabis nurse practitioners, wholesale and distribution customers, potential white label and contract business partners and the company.
  • Manage customer input and feedback for all projects with detailed directions and timelines.
  • Visit customers and attend trade shows and other industry events as necessary to capitalise on networking and relationship-building opportunities.
  • Work strategically to increase awareness and create demand for Cann's medicinal cannabis products and services.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain the customer database to ensure it is up to date.
  • Understand the customer and medicinal cannabis market to support short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Create and implement strategic account plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of the company's products or services to clients.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication between the client and internal teams.
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levels.
  • Manage day-to-day client communication and ongoing relationships related to current, new, and upcoming projects.
  • Proactively remain connected to clients and the ever-changing market to access new search opportunities and ensure all viable clients are engaged regularly and effectively.
  • Negotiate and finalise contracts and agreements with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations on both sides.
  • Provide regular reports on account status, including sales forecasts and performance metrics.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

 

About you


Qualifications / Licences

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commercial/Business/Marketing or related field. 
  • Pre-employment Security and health screening. 

You would be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience and execution in a similar position/ role.
  • Prior work experience in the Cannabis industry or supporting process improvements or product innovations is an asset.
  • Exceptional project management experience and interpersonal skills.
  • Healthcare experience particularly around new product/device development; Experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience in customer/user market research and the translation of research findings into actionable items.
  • Strong experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions and business restructuring negotiations.
  • Strong commercial focus, relationship management and customer service.
